Pastoral initiatives to address the situation caused by the coronavirus COVID 19

Many of the ordinary activities are being greatly disrupted by the COVID 19 pandemic, as we all know. So are the pastoral activities of our parishes. Many of them – also following diocesan instructions – have altered their rhythm of Sunday celebrations this past weekend, but they have also launched some alternative initiatives.

This is the case of the Parish of Saint Anthony Mary Claret, of Seville (Spain). Its parish priest, Juan Antonio Lamarca Carrasco, cmf, recorded yesterday a brief commentary on the Gospel that was distributed through social networks. Here you can see it:

Likewise, in other parishes, such as the Heart of Mary in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain), they will ring the bells at 12 noon, the hour of the Angelus, as a way of helping people feel close to the whole neighbourhood (this has also been proposed by the Spanish Episcopal Conference).

This is the poster with which they have also spread it through social networks:

On the other hand, at the congregational level, from the web page www.apostoladocmf.org some prayers and resources are being offered for these days.

It is a time of solidarity, of help… and also of creativity so as not to fail to offer to all the message of Hope and Salvation of the Gospel during this Lent.
