Our Superior General addresses the 50th National Week for Institutes of Consecrated Life

Our Superior General, Mathew Vattamattam cmf, spoke at the opening session of the 50th National Week for Institutes of Consecrated Life which will take place from the 17th to the 22nd of May and which is organised by the Theological Institute of Religious Life, as reported by the digital media VIDA NUEVA.

In his speech, he explained that the COVID-19 pandemic represents a paradigm shift of “how we must walk forward in a changing world”, since “when a crisis closes a door, hundreds of windows open to connect hearts that are willing to support and proclaim the joy of the Gospel”.

Vattamattam recalled that, despite these “difficult times”, there are more than 830,000 religious in the world. “Religious men and women are on the peripheries of human struggles, and religious life itself is a periphery where consecrated men and women need affirmation and updating”.
