Not to be served but to serve

For if I then, your Master and Lord, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you an example, so that what I have done for you, you also may do”.

(John 13: 1-15)

Holy Thursday, Day of Brotherly Love:

1) Participate in the evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper. Try also to spend some time with the Lord present at the “Monument”.

2) Remember that the follower of Jesus is a person in service. He is a person on his knees before others and with his towel always girded.

3) Jesus gives us “his commandment”: “Love one another as I have loved you”. As St. John says, “If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he sees cannot love God whom he does not see”. (1 Jn 4:20)
