On the last day of classes, the Educational Community of the Colégio Internato dos Carvalhos (CIC) gathered at the Sanctuary of the Heart of Mary to celebrate the traditional Finalist Mass (final year students), which served both to thank the students for the road travelled up to that point and as a sending out towards the future that each one has dreamed of during the last months of the course.
The motto chosen for this special moment was “Go, dream and transform”, inspired by St. Anthony Mary Claret, a missionary who knew that it was necessary to GO, GO OUT and DEPART in order to find the place and the moment where it would be most opportune and effective to build his vision of transforming the world. The Eucharist was presided over by Father Marçal, rector of the Sanctuary, who throughout the celebration addressed the young students, leading them to reflect on their path, their options and their future on the basis of the readings selected for the occasion.
The celebration took place in an atmosphere of great emotion, marked by the latent nostalgia for all that we have experienced as a CIC family over the last three years. At the end of the celebration, the students were presented with the CIC emblem, “wrapped in a big hug” so that they would never forget that this celebration was not a “goodbye”, as they will always be welcome, and that their way was beginning a new stage.
