Fr Artur Teixeira cmf writes to us again from Brazil, this time with musical news. As he tells us, the 9th of December was the last day of classes of the first year of the Claret School of Music “Prodigios de Amazonia”, in which there were rehearsals of melodies, preparation of spaces and a musical evening for the whole community of the district of Novo Paraíso (Município de Ribeirão Cascalheira, State of Mato Grosso, Brazil), followed by dinner and conviviality. If the day was a happy one, with so many expressions of gratitude for the road travelled, the evening was like the “icing on the cake”. Such was the charm and talent shared, that the applause was interspersed with short videos of this first year and moving testimonies from students, parents, teachers and the local community coordinator. In the end, the good news was that next year, just after Carnival, there will be more singing and guitar lessons for new pupils and, of course, for those who have successfully completed this first year.
