Celebrations and gatherings in the parishes of our Province

The activity does not stop in the parishes of our Province of Fatima, which in these days before Lent (22 February) is carrying out different gatherings and celebrating different festivities. We show you some of them:

In the Parish of the Heart of Mary Las Palmas (Spain), the Community Caminantes de Emaús (Tamaraceite) spent a beautiful day together after two years without being able to meet due to COVID19.

In the Parish of Our Lady of Pilar in Tenerife (Spain), on the occasion of the Day of Our Lady of Candelaria, they celebrated the presentation to the Virgin and the blessing of all the children baptised in the last year, which was very emotional due to the attendance of so many young people. For their part, the Youth Group of the parish spent a day together in the Dominican College of Vistabella, which served to allow the groups of each level to disconnect from the day to day and have a quiet and restful time to deepen their relationship with their brothers and sisters of the group, and of course with Jesus.

In the Nossa Senhora da Areosa Parish (Porto, Portugal), the young catechists and those involved in catechesis took part in the 24 hours of prayer for WYD Liboa 2023, which took place in different parishes of the Diocese of Porto. In addition, on Sunday 5 February, on the Feast of the Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple, the Parish Community welcomed 104 children baptised in 2022, followed by a celebration with the families.

The Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Cacém (Portugal) organised a weekend of biblical reflection. The theme chosen was: “Understanding the book of Revelation”. The meeting, which was attended by about 65 people, was led by the Portuguese biblical scholar Fr. Herculano Alves of the Capuchin Missionaries. The aim was to celebrate Word Sunday in a deeper way. There were good moments of reflection, conviviality and celebration.
