Blessing of pregnant women and evenings of conversation in the chapel of the Parish of Areosa

The Parish of Our Lady of Areosa (Porto, Portugal) has been very active during the first days of December.

On December 8th, Immaculate Conception Day, the pregnant women of the community were blessed in a beautiful Eucharist ceremony to remember.

In addition, on Saturday 9 December, in the Chapel of the Parish of Areosa, the first of a series of meetings called “Conversations with Francis” took place, an informal space for reflection on the recent messages of the Holy Father.

The theme of the first meeting, “May the Church not be a customs house”, allowed us to listen to fragments of one of the Pope’s homilies (in the Jeronimos Monastery during WYD 2023 last August) and generated the enthusiastic participation of those present.

In a universal Catholic Church, the Parish of Areosa and FiCA (Formation and Christian Initiation of Adults of the Parish of Areosa) invite all those who wish to join the next meeting, scheduled for 20 January 2024. The confirmation will appear on social networks (you can search for it on Facebook and Instagram at @fica.areosa). In addition, the organisation makes the contents (videos and texts) shared at the meetings available to those who wish to follow them remotely (www.formacaocrista.org/conversas).
