Be ready, be vigilant

“You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect” (Matthew 24, 37-44).

Jesus recommends to us is to be vigilant. That we never slumber or grow weary of doing good. That we be attentive to his continual coming. We need to keep our eyes wide open and our hearts burning to discover the presence of Jesus in us, in others and in all the events that take place.

“Let us walk in the light of the Lord” we are also told in today’s Word of God. Try to walk always, and especially in this time of Advent, in the light of the Lord who enlightens us, who stimulates us and encourages us on our journey towards Him.

May you have an Advent full of hope, of illusions and, above all, of dedication to others in order to meet Jesus in them. Our brothers and sisters are the “Bethlehem” in which we find Jesus, usually wrapped in swaddling clothes.
