With deep gratitude and hope, the Claretian communities of Valencia del Ventoso and Córdoba-Miralbaida bid farewell, closing a significant chapter of mission in these localities.
On 16 July, a Mass of thanksgiving was celebrated in Valencia del Ventoso, where the years of service since the Claretians’ arrival in 2016 were remembered. During this time, work was done in the parishes of Valencia del Ventoso, La Lapa, Atalaya, Medina de las Torres, Puebla de Sancho Pérez, and Valverde de Burguillos. This Eucharist was a moment to thank God for the opportunity to have shared life and mission with the residents of these communities.
In the Cordoban parishes of San Antonio María Claret (Palmeras), where our mission began in 1969, and Immaculate Heart of Mary (Miralbaida), 22 and 23 June were chosen to celebrate with the respective parish communities a Eucharist of thanksgiving for so much life and service that has emerged from this shared mission over the years.
These closures do not mark an abrupt end, but are the result of a process of discernment and review of positions and presences in the Province. This process is necessary to respond appropriately to the current reality, allowing the mission to continue more effectively.
May the Lord continue to guide our steps and bless each member of these parish communities who have been part of this our mission.
