Up to date in the Parish of Tondela

Like all the parishes of our Province of Fatima, the Parish of Tondela has had a few weeks full of events and activities. We review some of them:

Assumption of the position of parochial vicar by Fr. Miguel Lemos

Fr. Miguel Lemos cmf took office as parochial vicar of Tondela a few weeks ago in an emotional mass in which the decree of appointment, issued by the Bishop of Viseu, was read. The Mass was presided over by Fr. Victor Portugal cmf, parish priest, who greeted Fr. Miguel with joy and invited the faithful present, in good numbers, to greet the new parochial vicar with applause.

At the end of the Eucharist, the minutes of the inauguration were read and signed by the many witnesses present. We thank Fr. Miguel for his service to God in this new stage and, through the intercession of St. Anthony Mary Claret and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, may his presence and mission bear abundant fruits of joy, growth in faith and love of God and others, and may his apostolic life be fruitful.

Meeting of the Youth Group and presence in different activities

The Parish Youth Group also held a meeting a few weeks ago. The annual plan of activities for the pastoral year 2023-2024 was presented and discussed. The Youth Group will participate in many moments of parish life, in archpriestly and diocesan meetings, and in activities organised by the Youth and Vocational Pastoral Team of the Claretian Missionaries of the Province of Fatima. To conclude, some of those present shared their testimonies about their experience in the WYD Lisbon 2023 and were also able to see videos and photos to remember.

The group of young people of the Parish of Tondela responds to the acronym JPT-CW (Youth Parish Tondela – Claret Way), and is part of the World Network of Youth of the Claretian Family. They already participated last November 4 in Carvalhos in the encounter of all the participants of the WYD Lisbon in Claretian Family; on November 11 in the ‘magusto’ shared with the Group of Acolytes in the Quinta da Coelheira; and the next JPT-CW encounter will be the weekend of the 25th and 26th, with a reflection on the theme of the XXXVIII World Youth Day 2023: “Rejoicing in Hope” (cf. Rom 12:12), proposed by Pope Francis for all the young people of the world, which is celebrated every year on Palm Sunday. This day will culminate with the participation of the Youth Group in the Sunday Mass at 11am in the parish church.
