19th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Mt 22, 15-21)
To “give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s,” as Jesus proclaims in the Gospel of today is a programme of life for all those who consider ourselves Christians, regardless of whether or not we agree with the political and social situation at any given time. Jesus establishes a scale of values, without renouncing in any way those of his KINGDOM, but urging us to accept and fulfil our social and worldly obligations, respecting the personal values of all those around us based on the dignity we all have as children of the same Father. This is how our families should be: fully inserted in the world and fully dedicated to the project of the Kingdom
Proposal to take care of the family this week
As people, we are citizens of our world. This brings with it a number of obligations and responsibilities that are not to be separated from our life of faith and followers of Jesus. Let us ask ourselves what values we should live as members of society, applying them first of all to our immediate environment.
