The SOMI Gathering 2026 will bring together those committed to the Claretian mission to share experiences, reflect on solidarity, and renew their commitment to a Church open to the world. Organised by the SOMI team of the Claretian Province of Fátima, the event will take place from 2 to 4 October 2026 at Aliatar House in Loja (Granada). It is aimed at all those who wish to continue growing in a faith engaged with reality.
Over three days, the gathering will offer a space for fellowship, formation, and prayer, where participants can delve deeper into the solidarity and missionary dimensions of Claretian spirituality. The aim is to keep building a community capable of responding to today’s challenges through the lens of the Gospel, with a heart open to diverse social and cultural realities.
A mission without borders
Inspired by the legacy of Saint Anthony Mary Claret, the SOMI Gathering seeks to remind us that the missionary vocation knows no geographical or cultural boundaries. The initiative invites us to live out an available, compassionate spirituality, deeply committed to all people, especially those most in need.
The organising team highlights the importance of continuing to build a missionary Province where solidarity, justice, peace, and the care of creation form an integral part of the daily commitment of our communities and of all who share in the Claretian mission.
A space to share experiences
The gathering is especially designed for those holding responsibilities within Solidarity and Mission (SOMI) or JPIC, animators of Social Education Project (PES) groups, PROCLADE volunteers, Cáritas collaborators, participants in missionary or international volunteering experiences, as well as anyone interested in deepening a faith that transforms reality.
Through interactive sessions, moments of reflection, celebrations, and opportunities for dialogue, attendees will be able to share experiences, learn about various initiatives, and strengthen the bonds among those working for a more engaged and welcoming Church.
An open invitation to keep building community
Far beyond a formation meeting, SOMI proposes an experience of communion aimed at reinforcing the sense of belonging to a shared mission. The invitation encourages us to keep dreaming and building together a community capable of responding, from our Claretian charism, to the challenges of today’s world.
