Serving the Word: My 5: 33-37

SATURDAY 13 JUNE 2020

Matthew 5, 33-37:
“Let your speech be yes for yes, no for no.”

How many times do we have on our lips some words that we pronounce and address to God and to others, and yet in our heart we have feelings that do not correspond to those words.
How many times do we wish the good for others and deep down we are full of envy and resentment.
How many times do we say to the Lord “your will be done” and deep down we are looking out for ourselves.
Today is a good day to examine, from this passage of the Gospel, our sincerity of heart.
Examine whether the words that come out from your lips really come from your heart.
That, as Jesus tells us all, “let your speech be yes if you mean yes, no if you mean no. Anything more comes from the Evil One”.
Good day.
Good morning.
