Serving the Word: Mt 8: 28-34

WEDNESDAY 1st JULY

Matthew 8, 28-34:
“And two demoniacs came out of the tombs to meet him; and they were so violent that no one dared to pass that way.

Today’s Gospel tells us that “from the tombs two demoniacs ran to meet Jesus”.
They are two men who, although they are alive, are dead. They do not live with the people, but their dwelling is “among the tombs”.
The power of Jesus casts out the diabolical possession that chained them and made them dangerous to all who came near them. How many times in our lives do we also dwell and walk among the “tombs” possessed by a thousand “devils” that torment us.
We are tormented and possessed by the devils of sadness, of despair, of fear, of disillusionment, of hatred, of rancor…
Go out to meet Jesus today too. He is stronger than all your “tombs” and all your “demons”. You can also go out joyful and happy because Jesus, with his strength and power, casts out of you everything that makes you live in chains.
Good day.
