Serving the Word: Mt: 8, 23-27

Matthew 8, 23-27:
“Jesus stood up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and all was calm again.”

Jesus never ceases to be very close to us. He himself promised: “I am with you until the end of the world”.
Sometimes it may seem that he is asleep or doesn’t understand us and it seems that we are sinking. As the Gospel tells us today, all of a sudden, a storm rose up so strong that our poor boat seems to disappear into the waves.
Do not hesitate at these moments to get closer to him and to cry out to him as the disciples did. They are moments to rely even more on his Word, to hold on even more to prayer and ask him for his help.
Trust in Jesus and don’t let fear take hold of you and think you have been abandoned.
Remember: “I am with you until the end of the world”.
Good day.
