Serving the Word: Mt 8: 23-27

TUESDAY 30 JUNE

Matthew 8:23-27:
“Jesus stood and rebuked the winds and the lake, and there was a great calm.”

Jesus never ceases to be very close to us. He himself promised: “I will be with you until the end of the world”.
Sometimes it may seem that he is asleep or that he is not with us and it seems that we are sinking. As the Gospel tells us today, suddenly storms rise so strong that our poor boat seems to disappear in the waves.
Do not hesitate at this moment to approach him and shout out to him as the disciples did. These are moments to trust his Word more, to hold on more to prayer and to ask for his help.
Trust in Jesus and do not let fear take hold of you and believe that he has abandoned you.
Remember: “I will be with you until the end of time”.
Good day.
