Serving the Word: Mt 7: 7-11

Matthew 7, 7-11:
“Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened to you; because he who asks, receives, he who seeks finds and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

Today’s Gospel invites us to ask, to seek and to call.
There are three key attitudes to be taken into account at the time to getting down to pray.
Before God we are always very poor. We are always the youngest children they expect their mum or dad’s help and protection.
In God we seek what we yearn for. He is the Father who can fulfill our deepest desires.
Without realizing it, as St. Augustine says, our heart is restless until it rests in Him.
“Father” or “mother” is the invocation that always springs from the heart as a call full of affection and trust.
Put yourself in the presence of your Father God. Ask, seek and knock.
You will receive, you will find and you will be attended to.
Good day.
