Serving the Word: Mt 6: 1-6. 16-18

WEDNESDAY 26TH FEBRUARY

Matthew 6, 1-6.16-18:
“When you give alms, do not go around blowing your trumpet. When you go to pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in the secret place. When you fast, do not walk around with your head down like the hypocrites, who disfigure their faces to show the people that they are fasting”.

Today, the Lord invites us to travel and walk along three roads that lead us to God, and they are three indispensable roads in our life of following Jesus.
In our walk following Jesus, almsgiving, fasting and prayer are indispensable.
More almsgiving for the other, more fasting for oneself, more prayer for God.
* Fasting from noise and distractions that prevent you from hearing the voice of your conscience and from meeting God and others more deeply.
* Give alms by giving to yourself, from within. Share your qualities, your time, your goods, your life…
* Deal more with the Lord. Do not stop meeting with Him each day in your daily time of prayer. Weekly in the Eucharist and often in the Sacrament of Forgiveness.
Revive and take care of these good intentions in you.
In this way you will celebrate with all joy and fullness your daily encounter with the Lord.
Begin your Lenten journey with these good resolutions.
Good day.
