Serving the Word: Mt 15: 29-37

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4
Matthew 15, 29-37:
“Jesus went up the mountain and sat down. Many came to him bringing the lame the crippled, the blind, the dumb and many others; these they put down at his feet and he cured them……He took the seven loaves and the two fishes, said thanks, broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people”.

The mountain is considered in the Bible as a place of encounter with God.
Today we read in the gospel that Jesus climbs the mountain and sits down.
And on that mountain, Jesus meets people and approaches people in two ways:
1: HEALING: To Jesus come the lame, the blind, the crippled, the deaf and dumb, and many others. And everyone who encounters Him is healed.
2: FEEDING: He broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples to the people. And they all ate and were filled.
You too, during this Advent season, seek to meet Jesus more directly:
1: CLIMB the mountain of prayer and the sacrament of forgiveness (confession). Present to Jesus your illnesses, your deafness, your blindness… Throw yourself at his feet. He will heal you. You will feel welcomed, loved and forgiven.
2: CLIMB also the mount of the Eucharist. Satiate yourself of the life of Jesus. Join Him in the bread that is His body. You will be filled with eternal life.
3: SHARE yourself with others: your time, your goods, your joy…
Good day.
