Serving the Word: Mt 15: 21-28

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5TH

Matthew 15, 21-28:
“She came and prostrated herself before Jesus, saying, ‘Lord, help me'”.

Again, the “mantra” appears, now in the mouth of a foreign woman invoking Jesus: “Lord, help me”.
And these two words come from the lips of this woman because from her deep faith she has pronounced them before in her heart.
They are not three hollow and meaningless words. They are words of faith and trust in Jesus.
Jesus, who at first seems not to have heeded the woman’s request, ends up recognizing the greatness of her faith and making her request be granted.
Think of situations that are close to you and that you want to put at Jesus’ feet today.
And, like the woman in this Gospel, prostrate yourself before him with great faith and repeat many times today’s mantra: “Lord, help me”.
The Lord will hear your plea.
Good day.
