Serving the Word: MT 13: 47-53

THURSDAY 30TH JULY

Matthew 13, 47-53:
“The kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea and gathering together all kinds of fish: when it is full, they drag it ashore, sit down, and gather the good into baskets, and the bad are thrown away.

The fisherman, sitting on the shore, discerns his catch and separates one fish from another.
His experience and wisdom lead him to make this discernment.
Today too, Jesus leads you to discernment.
Throughout today, stop for a while and discern about your life of faith at this point in your summer:
× how are you doing in your relationship with God these days?
× How is your daily prayer? Is it your daily and personal encounter with the Lord?
× When and how do you participate in the Eucharist?
× how is your service and dedication to others working?
Ask the Lord for the wisdom to know how to distinguish some “fish” from others and to value the “fishing” you are doing this summer.
Good day.
