Serving the Word: Mt 12, 14-21

SATURDAY, JULY 18

Matthew 12, 14-21:
“He will not brawl, he will not cry out, he will not shout in the streets, he will not break the crushed reed, nor will the wavering wick put him out.”

The contrast between the cold legality of the Pharisees and the tender mercy of Jesus, who continues to cure, to serve, to forgive, and to help with deep piety, continues to exist today.
And he does so without a sound and without great appearances. He does it from simplicity, from humility, almost from anonymity.
He does it without stubbornness, without shouting, without shouting, without breaking the bruised reed and without extinguishing the wavering wick.
Learn from Jesus today. Practice mercy in this way. You will see how happy you are.
Good day.
