Serving the Word: Mt 11, 28-30

THURSDAY, JULY 16

Matthew 11, 28-30:
“Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest.

Within the human being enters fatigue, oppression, discouragement, despondency, anguish, sadness… and so many other negative states of mind.
And each person looks for the remedy where he thinks he will find the solution.
Jesus stands before you today as a place of rest and comfort. He reveals himself to the simple, to those who do not focus on themselves and put him at the centre of their lives. Jesus identifies himself with those who identify with his meekness and humility of heart.
Ask the Lord today for the simplicity you need to open your heart to him, to listen to him and to turn to him by placing in his love, in his heart, all the weariness and all the burdens that beset you at this time.
Good day.
