Serving the Word: Mt 11: 28-30

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11

Matthew 11, 28-30:
Jesus exclaimed, “Come to me, all you who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find your rest. For my yoke is easy to bear and my burden is light.

We all have bad moments throughout life.
We feel the tiredness, the oppression, – that sometimes seems to drown us -, the sickness, the sadness, the loneliness?
And how much one is grateful in those moments for family support or the hand of the friend!
Today Jesus invites us to meet him in these moments of tiredness and oppression.
Look for it in prayer, in the Eucharist, in the sacrament of forgiveness, in the Word… Seek it also in others, because at the same time that you find rest and consolation for yourself, you will also be rest and consolation for others.
And to the extent that you are for others, you will also find consolation and relief for yourself.
Good day.
