Serving the Word: Mt 11: 25-30

Matthew 11, 25-30:
“Jesus exclaimed, “I bless you Father, Lord of heaven and earth for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to mere children. Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased you to do”.

Sometimes we think that prayer is for educated people who have studied Sacred Scriptures and who understand the spiritual life.
But Jesus in today’s gospel gives thanks to the Father because he has revealed the mysteries of his Kingdom not just to people in the know and wise people but rather to ordinary people.
Place yourself before God with all humility, which is the same as walking in the truth, and simply try to be with the one who you know loves you. This is prayer according to St. Teresa of Jesus.
Today ask the Lord to give you that simplicity and wisdom of heart to delve deeper into the mysteries of the Kingdom. To learn “to be alone being friends with him who we know loves us”.
Good day.
