Serving the Word: Mt 10: 24-33

Matthew 10, 24-33:
“If anyone declares himself for me in the presence of men, I will declare myself for him in the presence of my Father in heaven. But the one who disowns me in the presence of men, I will disown in the presence of my Father in heaven”.

The commentary that we can make on the Gospel today is very similar to that of yesterday.
During the summertime we have more encounters with others, we relate more to people, we live more outside, we spend more time on the street…
This makes it possible for us and also leads us to our witness as Christians we need to make it much clearer and more patent.
Also, in summer we have to be courageous witnesses to the faith we profess.
We cannot keep our being Christian with the winter clothes.
We witness with our conduct and also with our words.
It is not so much a matter of being “Crusaders”. But neither should we be frightened and dominated by fear. We cannot go around with crosses held high, but neither with our hands tied and mouth gagged.
Ask the Lord to know how to bring the words of today’s Gospel to your life: “If anyone declares himself for me in the presence of men, I will declare myself for him in the presence of my Father in heaven. But the one who disowns me in the presence of men, I will disown in the presence of my Father in heaven”.
Be brave in your Christian witness.
Good day.
