Serving the Word: Mt 10, ,16-23

Matthew 10, 16-23:
“The one who stands firm to the end will be saved”.

Jesus does not want us to be tricked.
He asks us to follow him.
But clearly tells us that in this following joy and happiness are mixed with the cross that we have to carry behind him each day
To follow Jesus and be with Him also involves sharing his suffering and persecution, experience incomprehension and even to giving life, as he gave it, so that his kingdom of justice, love and peace triumphs.
We have to be his witnesses even in the midst of difficulties.
We have to proclaim the Gospel even in difficult times when we cannot lose a smile and we remain faithful until the last consequences.
During these days of summer, you will no doubt have many occasions to acknowledge Jesus in environments, in circumstances, in situations, which are not precisely the most appropriate nor the most consistent with the Gospel of Jesus.
May this word of Jesus always be fulfilled in you: “The one who stands firm to the end will be saved”.
Good day.
