Serving the Word: Mt 10: 1-7

Mat: 10, 1-7:
“Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits with power to cast them out and to cure all kinds of diseases and sickness. Jesus sent out the twelve ‘ Go and proclaim the kingdom of heaven is close at hand’”.

Jesus thinks of us and wants us to be in community.
He calls us each by name but not to put us individually into a cage but rather to integrate us all into a single community without anyone losing our own originality and identity. The same as when one day he called Peter, Janes, Simon, etc., so today he calls you to be part of his group, which is the Church.
And just as one day he sent Thomas, Andrew, Philip, etc. to preach and to proclaim that the Kingdom of Heaven is close at hand, he also sends you today.
Consider yourself called by Jesus.
Consider yourself sent by him to live and proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom.
He is also with you to “cast out unclean spirits and to cure all kinds of Diseases and sickness”.
Good day.
