FRIDAY 21 FEBRUARY 2020
Mark 8:34-9:1
“If any one would save their life, they will lose it, but whoever loses it for my sake will find it. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world if he loses his life?”
The question that Jesus addresses today was applied to themselves by many saints and radically changed their lives.
St. Anthony Mary Claret was one of them. He tells us so in his Autobiography:
“In the midst of this hubbub of things, while listening to the Holy Mass, I remembered having read from a very young age those words of the Gospel: “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?
This sentence made a deep impression on me. It was for me an arrow that wounded my heart. I thought and thought about what I would do, but I was not sure.
Ask yourself this question today and try to act on it.
Good day.
