Serving the Word: Mk 8: 14-21

TUESDAY 18 FEBRUARY 2020
Mark 8, 14-21:
“Why do you say that you have no bread? Do you not understand? Are you so foolish? What use are your eyes if you do not see, and your ears if you do not hear?”

We live so busy and worried about our own things that we don’t quite understand the things of God.
Yesterday we wanted to open our hearts to the wonders and gifts that the Lord places before us and puts in our hands each day.
In today’s gospel, Jesus teaches His disciples to open their eyes and realize that it is in the daily events of our lives that He manifests Himself.
The disciples do not quite understand the teachings of Jesus because they still have their hearts open to schemes that are very different from the schemes of the Master.
Try to be very attentive today as well. The Lord Jesus will teach you his ways in the little events and he will manifest himself to you in these little occurrences.
May your eyes serve you to see the wonders of God and your ears serve you to hear them.
Good day.
