Serving the Word: Mk 6: 1-6

WEDNESDAY 5 FEBRUARY

Mark 6, 1-6:
“He could not perform any miracles there, but he healed some sick people by laying his hands on them. And he was amazed at their lack of faith. And he went about the towns around him teaching”.

We find it very difficult to accept Jesus in his simplicity and from humility. We like to see him more with haloes, cloaks and clouds than with a saw or a hoe in his hands.
This has already happened to his countrymen who saw him working with his hands in the workshop of St. Joseph.
They could not explain his wisdom or his miracles.
God could not act by means of calloused hands.
They found it scandalous that one of their own did what he did and said what he said.
Do not look for God in extraordinary things. Seek God in the ordinary things of life.
In the most ordinary, common, everyday things He will find you and you will find Him.Try to discover him today in the normality of your day.
Good day.
