Serving the Word: Mk 4, 35-41

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1

Mark 4, 35-41:
“When it was evening, Jesus said to his disciples, Let us go across to the other side.”

Today’s Gospel begins with an invitation from Jesus: “Let us go across to the other side”.
It is also an invitation he makes to each one of us.
To go to “the other shore” means to leave where we are and go to another place.
It may be that today Jesus is inviting you to:
+ to leave the shore of pride and move to the shore of forgiveness,
+ to leave the edge of selfishness and move to the edge of giving,
+ to leave the bank of comfort and go to the bank of working for others,
+ that you leave the edge of apathy and move to the edge of enthusiasm,
+ that you leave the shores you know you must leave and go to the shores you also know you need and that Jesus is asking you for.
Don’t be afraid of the waves or the contrary winds. Because for Jesus “even the wind and the waters obey him”.
Have faith.
Good day.
