Serving the Word: Mk 3: 1-6

Mark 3, 1-6:
“Jesus went again into the synagogue, and there was a man there who had a withered hand. Jesus said to him, “Stand up out in the middle. Stretch out your hand”. He stretched out his hand and it was better”.

Again, we witness another act of Jesus in which he restores the lost dignity of a man who, because of his impairment, had to beg in order to eat.
And Jesus performed this deed in a sacred place, a synagogue. And at a sacred time: the sabbath. Indicating through this that what is really sacred for Him is the individual person.
And he says to the man, “Stand up!” That is the same as saying to him, Rise up!”. God cannot accept anything that could mortify or degrade, enslave or annul a person.
God wants dignity, love, care, hope, joy, health, etc. for the individual.
Think today about those facets of your life that could be a little stunted and place them in the presence of Jesus.
He also says to you, “Stand up!”, “Rise up!”.
Today you could meet with people who have stunted their hope, their joy, their capacity to love or their capacity to forgive.
By your actions tell them what Jesus said to the one who have the withered hand, Stand up out in the middle. Stretch out your hand!”

Good day.
