Serving the Word: Mk 16: 15-20

SATURDAY 25 APRIL

Mark 16, 15-20:
“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to all creation.”

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Mark the Evangelist.
His Gospel was probably the first to be written of the four.
It is the shortest of all. He does not elaborate, he does not lecture, he does not comment. Today, he briefly informs us of the missionary sending out of Jesus to his apostles.
It is a sending out that is also addressed to us, who are also called to proclaim the Gospel with our word, with our life and with our testimony. We are called to announce the Good News with enthusiasm, with joy and with strength.
You can make sure that Jesus and his message are welcomed wherever you normally operate.
You can help others to know Jesus, to love him and to follow him.
Do it with concrete actions. Today is a good day to be, like St Mark, a witness of Jesus. Today is a good day to write with your life the “Gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God”.
Don’t stop doing it.
Good day.
