Serving the Word: Mk 8: 22-26

Mark 8, 22-26:
“Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. Then putting some spittle on his eyes and laying his hands on him, he asked, “Can you see anything?”. Raising his eyeshe said: “I can see people. they look like trees, but they are walking about”. Then he laid his hands on the man’s eyes again and he saw clearly; he was cured”.
Again, we are witnessing the healing of a blind man by Jesus. But this blind man does not regain his sight immediately after the first time Jesus put some saliva in his eyes. His faith has not yet come to completely dispel the darkness that covered his eyes. For that reason, Jesus has not been able to fully achieve the miracle for his eyes.
But in a second moment, when the faith of that blind man reaches its fullness, Jesus returns to lay his hands on his eyes and clarity also completely empowers the whole person.
Equally we are moving forward and making progress in our life of faith. We are also advancing and progressing in our confidence in Jesus. Ask today insistently for the Lord to increase your faith. Make yours that brief prayer addressed to him by the Apostle Peter: “Lord, I believe, but increase my faith”.
Good day
