Mark 3, 31-35:
“Jesus asked them, ‘Who are my mother and my brothers?’ And looking round at those sitting in a circle about him, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of God, that person is my brother and sister and mother’”.
Jesus liked to be in a family and to be always surrounded by people.
But his family is not made up of administrative data or a record in a civil register.
Nor even the ties of flesh and blood.
His family is made up of all those who enter into the ambit of Jesus’ gaze.
His family is composed of all those who are around him and who catch the eye of Jesus and, together, they direct it to the Father so as to know his will.
Fulfil the will of the Father is what brothers do, what families do according to Jesus.
Because the will of the Father is that we respect, help, love, value each other and don’t harm one another.
In this way we will be brothers and sisters of Jesus.
Good day.
