Serving the Word: Lk 8: 19-21

Luke 8, 19-21:
“My mother and my brothers are these: those who hear the Word of God and put it into practice.”

In the Gospel today it seems as if Jesus does not care about his relatives and even his own mother.
But this is not the case. What Jesus wants us to see and understand is that there are some ties with Him that are stronger than ties of flesh and blood.
And these are the ties of faith.
Confidence in him and following him is above everything.
Mary was praised because she conceived Jesus in her womb.
But also her cousin Elizabeth congratulated her because she believed in the word addressed to her from God and that she listened to it so attentively that it became flesh in her womb.
May you be mother, sister or brother of Jesus because you also know how to listen to his Word and put it into practice.
Good day.
