Serving the Word: Lk 8: 1-3

Luke 8, 1-3:
“Jesus was walking from city to city and town to town, proclaiming and announcing the Good News of the Kingdom of God, accompanied by the Twelve, and by some women, who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases”.

Today, with social networks, it seems that there is competition to see who has more groups, more friends on facebook and more followers. Although it is the same if they really know them or not.
Jesus is surrounded by a small group of people who know each other, living together, sharing life and faith.
In this nucleus there are also a few women who collaborate in his mission.
We know the way that Jesus treated women, such as including them in a society in which men ruled and women are reduced to a lower level, hidden away in the home and household chores.
The women who accompany Jesus remind us of the many women today who continue to give the best of themselves to serve the Lord and proclaiming his Word from their tenderness, their dedication, courage and make inroads each day in a community that result from the all that is essential in the evangelizing mission.
Thank you, Lord, for so many women who are wise and simple, humble and prophets, servants and of evangelical spirit, with which you enrich your Church.
Good day.
