Serving the Word: Lk 12: 8-12

Saturday 19 October

Luke 12, 8-12:
“Everyone who says a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven”.

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is simply refusing to be saved by God, rejecting his love, his tenderness and his forgiveness.
It is refusing to be forgiven.
The Pope Saint John Paul II defined this blasphemy thus: “It does not consist in the fact of offending the Holy Spirit with words; it consists of the refusal to accept the salvation which God offers to man through the Holy Spirit, who acts by virtue of the sacrifice of the cross. If Jesus says that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven is through the radical refusal to be converted”.
Ask today for the same Holy Spirit that you allow yourself to be led by him.
He will teach you at every moment what you have to say and what you have to do. Good day.
