Serving the Word: Lk 12: 49-53

Thursday 24 October

Luke 12, 49-53:
“I have come to set the world on fire and how I wish it were already burning!”.

Jesus was the first to set this fire of the Gospel in the world.
And after him, up to today, many others of his followers have followed lighting this fire and have made it possible that throughout history the fire that brings the Gospel is not extinguished.
We can think of so many men and women that we could call “men and women on fire”.
Men and women touched by the love of God who set the fire of this love of God in everything they did and in everything they lived.
Fire burns, purifies, enlightens, heats, spreads its flame to everything it touches. The fire does not stop, it tends to expand, to be a bright beacon.
Ask this grace to the Lord: that like Jesus and so many men and women in the history of Christianity be a person of fire too.
Spread the fire of the Gospel to everything you touch.
Today we are celebrating the feast of a man on fire:St. Anthony Mary Claret.
May the Lord, through his intercession, convert you also into a women or man on fire and touch your heart with the fire of his love.
Good day.
