Serving the Word: Lk 11: 1-4

Luke 11, 1-4:
“Lord, teach us to pray”.

To pray is to abandon yourself in the embrace of God” (John Paul II).
“Prayer is the breath of the soul. If we do not breathe, we die. If we don’t do prayer we do not have a spiritual life” (Benedict XVI).
“First of all, you have to devote time to contemplation and silence, above all, if we live in big cities, where everything is in commotion. I always start prayerwith silence” (Mother Teresa of Calcutta).
Those words of these three great prayers encourage you not to omit for even one day to spend a few minutes in prayer.
You will learn to call God Father and feel what that means.
Each day you will learn to abandon yourself in his arms and you will know that he always waits to embrace you.
Especially today try to spend a good amount of time in the presence of the Lord repeating many times: “Lord, teach us to pray!”.
Good day.
