Serving the Word: Lk 10: 1-9

Luke 10, 1-9:
“The harvest is abundant but the labourers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into his harvest. Set out on your way!.

A few days ago we made the following comment about today’s reading:
Also today, as in the time of Jesus, the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few.
Even without knowing it, our world hungers and thirsts for God because it is hungry and thirsty for peace and justice, forgiveness and mercy, goodness and beauty, love and acceptance.
Our world is like an immense planted field that is waiting for the rain of God because it is dying of thirst.
And it is waiting for workers who set out on the way, overcoming the obstacles, putting in all their effort, ready not to stop, with little luggage and no fear of fatigue.
Set out on the road now!.
Get in tune with the whole Church, following Pope Francis, he wants to live by “going forth”.
We do not evangelize from our paralysis and with arms crossed seating peacefully in an office or an armchair. We evangelize by coming out of ourselves and setting out on the road. We will also ask that the owner of the harvest send out laborers into his harvest.
And offer yourself to be one of them.
Good day.
