Serving the Word: John 5: 31-47

THURSDAY, MARCH 26

John 5, 31-47:
“And you do not want to come to me for LIFE!”

In today’s Gospel, Jesus complains that his listeners do not believe in him.
They do not see in the words and the deeds what God’s action is doing.
They are unable to discover the love of the Father in the miracles of Jesus.
They are not able to discover the deep meaning of his parables.
They even aggressively judge many of his gestures in favour of the weak, the needy and those who suffer for whatever reason.
They close themselves off from LIFE: “And you do not want to come to me to have life!
We too are in danger of not coming truly to Jesus to have LIFE.
We can remain in the anecdotal and superficial and prevent the deep LIFE that Jesus gives us from penetrating beyond the merely external.
+ Go to Jesus today in a time of prayer.
+ Live these days the reconciliation.
+ Participate in one way or another in a Spiritual Communion.
In this way you will have a lot of life.
Good day.
