TUESDAY 26TH MAY
John 17, 1-11a:
“This is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and your anointed, Jesus Christ.
We can think, and in fact we think many times, that eternal life begins at the moment of our death.
But Jesus in today’s Gospel tells us that eternal life already begins here, in this world, to the extent that we get to know Him and we get to know the Father as well.
To know the Bible is not only an act that we do with our intelligence.
To know the Bible is to experience, to live… and, in our case, it is to experience and live the life of God in us.
When the life of God takes hold of us, the eternal life of God also takes hold of us, and we are imbued with his eternal life.
Begin to live eternal life by living God’s life in you.
