Serving the Word: John 16: 23b-28

SATURDAY 23RD MAY

John 16, 23b-28:
“I tell you the truth, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.”

How many times have I heard it said that God does not listen to the prayers we address to him because he does not grant us what we ask for.
However, Jesus promised that whatever we ask the Father in his name he will give us.
Perhaps we lack this requirement in our petitions: to ask in Jesus’ name.
To ask in the name of Jesus is to ask for what is in line with his Gospel, because sometimes we ask for things that can go in other ways.
Always ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit. He knows what you need. He will know how to give you what you need at every moment of your life.
And He will also know how to give what is convenient for you in each moment of your life.
Ask that the Father’s will be done in you and in all creatures, because your good Father always wants the best for you and for everyone.
Pray today, and many times and also very slowly, the prayer of the Our Father, which is the prayer that Jesus taught us.
Good day.
