Serving the Word: John 15: 18-21

SATURDAY, MAY 16

John 15, 18-21:
“The servant is not more than his master. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you.

Jesus does not want us to be misled. Following him gives us true joy and happiness.
But it also leads us not to be loved, to be persecuted, criticized, misunderstood…
Jesus’ criteria, choices and values go in very different ways from the criteria, choices and values of the world:
+ Where Jesus says to serve, the world says to be served
+ Where Jesus says poverty, the world says wealth.
+ Where Jesus says surrender, the world says selfishness.
And so, we could continue with a long list.
Be happy if you are “persecuted” and you feel “persecuted” because you are a follower of Jesus. How many of our brothers and sisters are feeling and living this part of the gospel!
If this happens to you, it means that you are certainly acting as a Christian.
And always be encouraged: Jesus has overcome the world.
Pray today for so many of our persecuted brothers and sisters throughout the world.
Good day.
