Serving the Word: John 15: 12-17

John 15, 12-17:
“I call you friends because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father.”

Jesus gives us today the title of friends.
The reason is that he has uncovered for us what he most appreciates and what he considers the most important: the love of the Father.
The same is the embodiment of this love. Contemplating him, we understand the love of the Father.
And in him we contemplate that his love is a love that values, enriches, goes out of its way, helps, solves, gives life in a constant attitude of service and commitment…
This is the love that Jesus has commanded us to practice and not as something that is imposed from the outside, but as something that springs from within drowning out all our desires to possess, to dominate, to appropriate or take advantage of others.
Contemplate Jesus once more and repeat to him many times that you also want to be his friend.
Good day.
