Serving the Word: John 15, 12-17

FRIDAY, MAY 15

John 15, 12-17:
“I call you friends, because all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

Jesus gives us the title of friends today.
The reason is that He has discovered for us what He appreciates the most and what He considers the most important: the love of the Father.
He himself is the incarnation of this love. By contemplating Him we understand the love of the Father.
And in Him we contemplate that his love is a love that values, enriches, goes beyond, helps, solves, and gives life in a constant attitude of service and surrender.
This is the love that Jesus commands us to practice, and not as something that is imposed on us from outside, but as something that springs from within, suppressing all our desires to possess, to dominate, to appropriate or to take advantage of others.
Contemplate Jesus once again and repeat many times that you also want to be his friend.
Good day.
