Serving the Word: John 13, 16-20

THURSDAY, MAY 7

John 13, 16-20:
“He who receives my messenger receives me.”

We think that those sent by God must be extraordinary people. Wise and holy people who know well the ways of God and show them to others. Certainly God often uses such people to teach his ways and to make us see his will.
But this is not usually the case. The things of God are very simple.
Jesus’ simple gesture of washing his disciples’ feet is an eloquent Word of God.
Actions, words, events are also sent from God. And we are to receive all these as “sent by God” and not only people, who are also sent by God.Every person who crosses your path today is an “envoy” of God for you.
Read also his Word in everything that happens, in everything that you see and in everything that you hear.
And keep in mind that you are also a messenger from God to others.
May everyone, by you and through you, see and hear the Word of the Lord today.
Good day.
