MONDAY 10 AUGUST
John 12, 24-26:
“I tell you the truth, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains unfruitful. But if it dies, it bears much fruit”.
Today’s Gospel invites us to give our life.
It is very possible that the Lord does not ask you to give it as the saint we celebrate today, St. Lawrence, did.
But he is asking all of us to give our life to bear fruit that will also give life.
We dedicate our lives to the smallest details.
Perhaps now, in the summer, we will have more time to give it to others:
To give it to people who are more alone.
To give it to the sick.
To give it to the family.
To give it to friends.
And also, now in the summer, perhaps you can give life in other ways and forms that later during the year you will not be able to give.
Don’t miss out on the opportunities to give life.
Keep in mind that as you give life, you will also receive life. Congratulations to those of you named Lawrence.
Good day.
